Татары – один из крупнейших тюркских этносов.

    Татары географически и исторически относятся к евразийской цивилизации и всегда находились в зоне активных контактов — хозяйственно-культурных укладов, крупнейших языковых семей и мировых религий. Располагаясь на стыке континентов, татары всегда были частью западного мира на Востоке и Востока — на Западе. Являясь западным проводником тюркско-мусульманского мира, татары стали посредниками в цепочке культурных импульсов, именно этим определяется особый ее облик, стиль и содержание. Важный факт того, что татарский мир был частью евразийского культурного пространства, объединяющего Восток и Запад, нашел отражение во всех аспектах его жизни. 

На основе перестройки, переформатирования этих фундаментальных цивилизационных оснований, приобретя современные формы выражения идентичности, возникла и начала развиваться единая татарская нация.

The Tatars are one of the largest Turkic ethnic groups.

The Tatars, both geographically and historically, belong to the Eurasian civilization and have always been in a zone of active contact—of economic and cultural systems, major language families, and world religions. Situated at the crossroads of continents, the Tatars have always been part of the West in the East and of the East in the West. As the Western conduit of the Turkic-Muslim world, the Tatars became mediators in the chain of cultural impulses, which has defined their unique character, style, and substance. The important fact that the Tatar world was part of the Eurasian cultural space uniting East and West has found expression in all aspects of its life.

On the basis of restructuring and reformatting these fundamental civilizational foundations, and having acquired modern forms of identity expression, a unified Tatar nation emerged and began to develop.

Thus, the Tatars are not merely “one of the largest Turkic ethnic groups,” but a great nation with a rich history and dynamic modern development, occupying a special place in Eurasia.
