During the interview, Aida Abdrakhmanova discussed the position of the Tatarstan Independence Committee regarding the recently adopted State National Policy Strategy of the Republic of Tatarstan. According to her and her colleagues, the strategy represents a modern form of Russification in the 21st century. She argues that this process is no longer carried out through direct prohibitions, but rather through shifts in state policy priorities, which, in her view, gradually erode the national identity and political agency of the Tatar people.
